China Telecom Joins CDMA Development Group, to Set Up Company for CDMA Phone Procurement
July 11, 2008
Following China's telecommunications industry reform and China Telecom's announcement to buy China Unicom's CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) business, China Telecom recently announced that it has officially joined the CDG (CDMA Development Group), with an aim to boost the market presence of CDMA in China, Chinese-language Xinhua News reported.

Meanwhile, it is reported that China Telecom will set up a company in charge of customizing and procuring CDMA mobile phones, XFN-Asia reported. It remains unclear as to the schedule of China Telecom's takeover of China Unicom's CDMA network, though.
